Role Description The Team Leader Design will oversee the design function for material handling and intralogistics systems, ensuring that solutions meet client requirements, safety standards, and performance targets. This full-time, on-site role is based in Chennai and involves leading a design team, reviewing and approving design concepts, detailed drawings, and engineering calculations for products such as conveyors, storage systems, and automated handling equipment. The role includes coordinating with project management, manufacturing, and installation teams to ensure design feasibility, cost effectiveness, and timely delivery. The Team Leader Design will also interact with clients to clarify technical requirements, provide design recommendations, and support technical documentation, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives within the design department.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Team Leadership and Team Management skills to guide, mentor, and coordinate design engineers and related team members.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, interact with clients, and prepare clear technical documentation.
- Candidates should possess Project Management skills to plan design activities, manage timelines, allocate resources, and support smooth project execution.
- Candidates should possess Product Design skills, ideally in material handling, conveyors, or industrial automation systems, including familiarity with CAD tools and engineering standards.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline are preferred.
- Experience in intralogistics, supply chain automation, or manufacturing environments, along with knowledge of safety and compliance standards, is highly beneficial.
- Ability to analyze technical problems, propose practical design solutions, and adapt to evolving project needs in a fast-paced industrial context.
