Key Responsibilities
This role requires:
*5+ years of experience in SLRs.
*Stakeholder and team management experience.
Technical and Scientific Delivery
• Lead the design and execution of systematic literature reviews, targeted literature reviews, rapid reviews, and evidence gap assessments.
• Develop technically robust review protocols, search strategies, screening criteria, data-extraction frameworks, and analysis plans.
• Apply recognized systematic review standards and reporting frameworks, including PRISMA and relevant health technology assessment guidance.
• Conduct and oversee title and abstract screening, full-text review, data extraction, quality assessment, and evidence synthesis.
• Critically appraise clinical, epidemiological, economic, patient-reported outcome, and real-world evidence studies.
• Interpret heterogeneous evidence and develop clear, scientifically balanced conclusions.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, manuscripts, conference abstracts, slide decks, and client-facing deliverables.
• Support qualitative and, where relevant, quantitative evidence synthesis, including feasibility assessments for meta-analysis and network meta-analysis.
• Ensure that review methods and outputs are transparent, reproducible, and suitable for regulatory, publication, reimbursement, or health technology assessment purposes.
Project Leadership
• Manage systematic review projects from initiation through final delivery.
• Translate client objectives into clear research questions, deliverables, timelines, and workplans.
• Allocate tasks across project teams and monitor progress against agreed milestones.
• Identify methodological, operational, and timeline risks and implement appropriate mitigation plans.
• Ensure projects are delivered to the required scientific standard, within scope, and according to agreed timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate effectively with statisticians, health economists, medical writers, information specialists, and other internal experts.
• Maintain clear project documentation and support compliance with internal quality-management procedures.
Quality Assurance
• Review protocols, search outputs, extraction tables, evidence summaries, reports, and presentations produced by project teams.
• Provide detailed scientific and methodological feedback to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
• Verify that conclusions are appropriately supported by the available evidence.
• Promote consistent application of internal templates, standard operating procedures, and systematic review best practices.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of evidence-synthesis methods, tools, and quality-control processes.
Team Leadership and Development
• Provide day-to-day technical guidance to analysts, research associates, and consultants.
• Delegate work according to team members’ experience, capacity, and development needs.
• Review team members’ work and provide constructive, timely feedback.
• Support onboarding, training, mentoring, and capability development within the systematic reviews team.
• Help foster a collaborative, accountable, and scientifically rigorous team culture.
• Contribute to performance discussions and identify development opportunities for junior colleagues.
