NOTE:
- Only candidates with 1–3 years of experience will be considered. Applicants with more experience are not eligible.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience working with college management teams or handling college partnerships. ABOUT THE ROLE
The Team Lead - Community Operations is the operational heartbeat of Student Tribe. You will directly manage four functional teams: Community, Events & Experiences, Client & Gig Execution, and Influencer Marketing, along with a rotating intern cohort of 5–7. You are the person who ensures strategies actually happen, teams are aligned, clients are delighted, and students remain deeply engaged.
This is not a role for someone who just manages. It is for someone who builds systems, drives cross-functional alignment, and can hold the centre while the organisation grows outward.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Planning
- Define and drive quarterly OKRs across Community, Events, Client, and Influencer functions, ensuring clear alignment with organizational priorities.
- Develop and refine the community growth framework, including campus activation strategies, onboarding processes, engagement benchmarks, and progression criteria.
- Identify and implement scalable engagement models, partnership opportunities, and operational improvements that enable growth without proportional resource expansion.
- Establish a structured weekly review system to monitor key metrics such as community growth, engagement scores (NPS), event participation, campaign delivery, and ROI for leadership visibility.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Conduct regular 1:1s, team meetings, and cross-functional reviews to ensure clarity on priorities, progress, and risks.
- Lead hiring, onboarding, and development of team members; set performance expectations and conduct structured evaluations.
- Oversee intern programs end-to-end, including project allocation, mentorship alignment, performance tracking, and identification of high-potential candidates for full-time roles.
- Act as the escalation point for operational challenges, ensuring timely resolution of cross-team dependencies and issues.
Client & Gig Operations
- Design and standardize processes for client onboarding, campaign execution, on-ground delivery, and reporting to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Build and manage a scalable student gig network with structured onboarding, skill categorization, and defined service-level expectations for campaign delivery.
- Collaborate with Growth teams to align community engagement with relevant gig opportunities, strengthening participation and earning potential for students.
- Support high-priority client accounts by ensuring quality execution, timely delivery, and strong client satisfaction to drive repeat business.
Community Health & Growth
- Define clear engagement standards to distinguish active and inactive communities, and hold teams accountable to quality metrics beyond community size.
- Identify and develop student leaders within communities to build decentralized leadership and sustainable engagement models.
- Translate on-ground insights into actionable strategies for programming, event formats, and campaign ideation.
Influencer Marketing Operations
- Partner with the Influencer Marketing team to build structured systems for discovery, evaluation, onboarding, and retention of micro-creators.
- Enable collaboration between student communities and creators to drive organic reach and brand amplification.
- Set performance benchmarks and track campaign effectiveness through defined creator metrics.
Events & Experience Oversight
- Ensure alignment between Events, community, and Client teams to deliver well-coordinated and high-impact experiences.
- Review event strategies and post-event analyses to continuously improve formats and outcomes.
- Provide on-ground decision support during events to ensure smooth execution and timely resolution of issues.
WHO YOU ARE
- 1-3 years of experience in team leading, community building, campus outreach, brand activations, or operations, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams of 10+ people and holding them to clear, measurable deliverables.
- Deep instinct for what motivates students, you understand campus culture, placement anxiety, club dynamics, and peer influence without needing it explained.
- Data-fluent: comfortable building trackers, reading dashboards, and making decisions based on metrics, not just instinct.
- Excellent communicator, running a 20-person team sync, or presenting outcomes to a brand client.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing priorities.
- Willing and able to travel frequently across territories for campus visits, client meetings, and events.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience working with college management teams or handling college partnerships. This includes experience in coordinating with college authorities, managing institutional collaborations, organizing on-campus initiatives, and understanding the operational structure of academic institutions. Candidates with an existing network within colleges or experience in driving student engagement at the campus level will be considered highly suitable.
