Role Description The Team Lead role at Paytm is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. In this role, the individual will oversee a team to ensure operational efficiency, high-quality service delivery, and achievement of performance targets. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and assigning tasks, monitoring team performance, guiding team members, and resolving escalations in a timely and professional manner. The Team Lead will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, track key metrics, implement process improvements, and support training and development initiatives for the team. This position requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and results-driven work environment.
Qualifications
- Strong people leadership and team management skills, including mentoring, performance monitoring, and conflict resolution.
- Experience in operations, customer service, or payments/fintech environments, with the ability to manage workflows and processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate with internal stakeholders and represent the team effectively.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including comfort with data, metrics, and reporting tools to drive decisions.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai and handle a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, finance, engineering, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Prior experience in a team lead or supervisory role is strongly preferred; exposure to digital payments or UPI products is an advantage.
