CORE TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate should have strong hands-on experience with: - Java - Python - Microservices - Apache Spark / PySpark - System Architecture / Solution Architecture - Distributed Systems - Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies - Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP - Kubernetes / containerized environments - Cluster management or experience working with distributed computing platforms
ADDITIONAL / SECONDARY SKILLS: - Angular or other modern frontend technologies - Spring Boot / Spring Cloud - Docker - REST APIs - CI/CD - SQL/NoSQL databases - Terraform or other IaC tools - Observability/monitoring - GenAI/AI exposure
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Designing scalable, secure, highly available software and data-intensive systems.
2. Defining application and system architecture for Java/Python-based platforms.
3. Designing and reviewing microservices and distributed systems.
4. Working with Apache Spark/PySpark and distributed processing environments.
5. Designing event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar technologies.
6. Making architecture decisions across cloud, compute, storage, networking, and application layers.
7. Driving technical design, HLD/LLD, architecture reviews, and technology decisions.
8. Working closely with engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
9. Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and design reviews for developers and technical leads.
10. Identifying performance, scalability, reliability, and technical-debt issues and driving improvements.
11. Collaborating with product, engineering, DevOps, data, and other stakeholders.
12. Staying hands-on with critical technical problems rather than being limited to people management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–15 years of relevant software/data/platform engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java and Python.
- Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
- Practical experience with Apache Spark/PySpark.
- Experience designing or contributing significantly to system/solution architecture.
- Experience with Kafka or another distributed messaging/event-streaming platform.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform.
- Good understanding of Kubernetes/containerized environments or distributed cluster platforms.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Angular/React or full-stack exposure. - Spring Boot/Spring Cloud. - Terraform/IaC.
- Databricks, EMR, Dataproc, Azure Databricks, or similar Spark platforms.
- Experience with large-scale data platforms.
- GenAI/LLM exposure.
- Experience modernizing legacy systems into microservices/cloud-native architectures.
