Role Description The Teacher Robotics role is a full-time, on-site position based in Salem. The robotics teacher designs and delivers engaging lessons that introduce students to robotics concepts, programming fundamentals, and basic engineering principles. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and organizing class activities, guiding students through hands-on projects, demonstrating safe and proper use of robotics kits and tools, and assessing student progress. The role also involves providing individual support, encouraging teamwork, maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and coordinating with colleagues to align curriculum and share best practices. The teacher is expected to participate in training sessions, school events, and ongoing professional development related to robotics education.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience facilitating learning for diverse age groups.
- Ability to design effective Lesson Planning and Training activities that support hands-on robotics projects.
- Excellent Communication skills for explaining technical concepts clearly and engaging students and families.
- Practical knowledge of robotics kits, basic electronics, and introductory programming (e.g., block-based coding or Python) is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM field, or related discipline, or equivalent experience in robotics instruction.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills and commitment to creating an inclusive, safe learning environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, adapt to new technologies, and participate in ongoing professional development.
