Responsible for managing the operations for TE in Rochester for our Optics product portfolio. The job involves ensuring the health and safety of all our employees on the site. Ensuring we are producing to customer expectations, delivering on time, with product quality in line with specifications, and continually improving costs by identifying waste and opportunities to streamline operations. The engagement and well-being of our employees are key priorities for the plant manager and the functional leaders reporting to the plant manager. The role will also ensure compliance with all regulations and internal TE policies and practices. Engaging with the community and driving sustainability initiatives are critical to the role's success.
Responsibilities
Responsible for safety, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, manufacturing engineering, sustainability, continual improvement using tools such as lean (defined as TE Operating Advantage internally), operations strategy, and talent.
• Drive a strong commitment and robust safety program and create a culture of zero tolerance and ownership on safety across all our sites.
• Drive a robust talent strategy to ensure we always have ready-now / ready-short-term succession to all functional leadership roles and to ensure diversity is promoted across the operations, and results are visible. Developing core competencies in the plant is needed to strengthen operations and capabilities and exceed customer expectations.
• Bring outside in perspective by identifying and communicating TE and industry best practices.
• Partner with business leaders to develop a robust plant strategy and deploy it using Hoshin.
• Ensure flawless customer experience with near-perfect service level to the customers and zero defects. Continuously improve all value streams to drive the cost of poor quality to entitlement.
• Develop the continuous improvement path for the plant. Benchmarking Standard work, and star Level requirements for tools and metrics using the TEOA framework.
• Drive for optimizing the gross margin to entitlement, net conversion productivity to be a positive contribution to the margin, and optimizing inventory to ensure working capital to entitlement through all business cycles.
• Drive resilience in operations with localization and dual sourcing in the supply chain to ensure a robust and reliable upstream supply chain to the factory.
• Define and deploy the appropriate operations metrics at key levels of operations to monitor, evaluate, and provide meaningful feedback to the team.
• Build a robust governance model at all tiers of employees in the plant to communicate and monitor performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, with a high sense of execution mindset, clear communication, and engagement of all employees.
• Engage all employees by actively listening to them, communicating business priorities, and working on their needs to have an engaged and inclusive workforce.
• Demonstrating leadership and commitment in administering TE Connectivity's values.
• Drive a sense of high accountability on all compliance and internal TE policies and practices. Comply with all local regulations and operational audit requirements.
• Develop and drive sustainability initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across scope 1,2 and 3 to meet TE's commitment.
• Collaborate with product managers and product execution team to ensure we win future business as early as the quotation process, sample making, and lean into the product development cycle to engage the plant team and show ownership to take and quickly ramp up the product.
• Constantly work on a process technology roadmap to keep the innovation cycle high and create competitive advantages and differentiation through operations.
