About the role
- Lead and mentor the DevOps team in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Oversee the development and operation of cloud infrastructure and services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive automation, efficiency, and scalability
- Establish best practices for monitoring, logging, and alerting across the infrastructure
- Drive the adoption of DevOps culture and practices across engineering teams
- Manage the budget, resources, and timelines for DevOps projects
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements
- Lead incident response and resolution efforts to maintain high availability of systems
- Collaborate with product management to align DevOps initiatives with product roadmaps
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation
- Develop and maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and infrastructure
- Participate in recruiting, hiring, and performance management of the DevOps team
- Contribute to the overall engineering leadership and strategic direction
- Identify and drive initiatives for continuous improvement of engineering processes
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align DevOps strategies with business goals
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a DevOps or infrastructure engineering team
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines
- In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Experience with infrastructure as code techniques using Terraform or CloudFormation
- Thorough understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex technical challenges
- Proven track record of driving cultural and organizational change towards DevOps practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams
- Experience in budgeting, resource planning, and project management
- Certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer are a plus
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while maintaining a strategic focus
