Job Title: Tax Research Administrator III (S3) – Noida
Position Summary
The Tax Research Administrator III (S3) is responsible for researching, analyzing, and resolving payroll tax notices across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. This role focuses on accurate and timely case resolution, compliance adherence, and effective communication with tax agencies and internal stakeholders.
The L3 operates with moderate independence, handling a mix of standard and moderately complex cases, while continuing to build deeper expertise in multi-state payroll tax regulations and reconciliation processes.
Payroll Tax Notice Resolution
- Research, analyze, and resolve federal, state, and local payroll tax notices within defined service level agreements.
- Perform QTD and YTD reconciliations of wages and tax amounts (withheld, reported, and deposited).
- Handle SUI, SIT, PFML, Workers’ Compensation, and Local tax notices with accuracy and compliance focus.
- Identify discrepancies related to filings, payments, rates, and employee tax setup.
- Apply corrective actions to resolve notices and minimize penalties and interest.
- Maintain accurate and timely case updates in Salesforce.
- Mentor Team and work towards Knowledge Sharing.
Agency & Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate with tax agencies to obtain information and resolve notice discrepancies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather required data and support case resolution.
- Provide clear and timely updates to stakeholders on case progress.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure accuracy and completeness in case handling and documentation.
- Follow established SOPs and compliance guidelines.
- Identify recurring issues and escalate trends to supervisor.
- Participate in training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Support audit and compliance activities as needed.
Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in payroll tax research, compliance, or agency interaction.
Working Knowledge Of
- Federal Payroll Taxes
- State Unemployment Insurance (SUI)
- State Income Tax (SIT)
- Local tax regulations
Basic to intermediate experience in Payroll tax.
- Familiarity with tax agency portals and payroll systems.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to multi-state payroll tax environments.
- Experience with payroll tax filing systems.
- CPP/FPC (or working towards certification).
