Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and review *BAS (Business Activity Statements), IAS (Instalment Activity Statements)* and other ATO compliance reports accurately and within required deadlines.
- Manage *day-to-day bookkeeping*, including bank reconciliation, accounts reconciliation, payroll processing and reconciliation, ATO reconciliation, and maintaining accurate accounting records.
- Ensure compliance with *Australian Accounting Standards, taxation legislation, GST requirements, and Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations*.
- Prepare and maintain *financial statements and accounting reports* for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individual clients.
- Analyse clients’ financial statements, identify financial trends and discrepancies, and provide recommendations to improve financial outcomes and internal accounting processes.
- Work efficiently with accounting and bookkeeping platforms such as *Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Dext*, and other relevant accounting software.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client accounting records and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
- Assist with *tax preparation, reporting, reconciliations, and compliance-related activities* as required.
- Communicate professionally with clients and internal teams regarding accounting, taxation, payroll, reconciliation, and compliance matters.
- Stay updated with changes in *Australian taxation laws, ATO regulations, accounting standards, and compliance requirements* and apply them appropriately in day-to-day work.
Required Skills & Competencies
- wledge of *Australian accounting and taxation practices*.
- Practical understanding of *BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG, payroll, and ATO compliance*.
- Good experience in bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Hands-on experience with *Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and Dext*.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and client-handling skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the accounting team.
Preferred Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in *Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field*.
Relevant Australian accounting experience or exposure to Australian clients will be preferred.
Professional accounting qualifications such as *CSA/CFA/CMA/ICW will be an added advantage.
Key Objective
- The Australian Accountant Executive will be responsible for managing accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliation, financial reporting, and ATO compliance activities while ensuring accuracy, timely delivery, and adherence to Australian accounting and taxation requirements.
