  1.  

Compliance & Audits:  

  • Ensure full compliance with the Factories Act, 1948 & Jharkhan Factory rules  and all other applicable statutory and legal safety regulations.
  • Conduct periodic internal safety audits and coordinate external audits such as ISO 45001 and Integrated Management System (IMS) audits.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to safety inspections, risk assessments, compliance checklists, and all other audit-related records.
  • Hands on experience on safety committee, permit to work, safety competitions, PPES, Handling of contractors Wr.t Contractor Safety management process

Incident Management: 

  • Possess hands-on experience in accident and incident investigation, including detailed recording, prompt reporting, structured investigation, and implementation of corrective measures.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of workplace incidents and near-miss events, ensuring root cause analysis (RCA) is performed using appropriate methodologies.
  • Recommend and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain an up-to-date accident/incident register and prepare periodic reports for senior management, highlighting trends, risk areas, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct trend analysis on historical incident data to proactively identify systemic safety issues and recommend continuous improvement strategies.

Training & Awareness: 

  • Provide comprehensive training on industrial safety, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), accident and incident investigation, work permit systems, and emergency response procedures.
  • Facilitate training sessions to enhance team understanding of safety protocols, emergency preparedness, safe work practices, and the implementation of industry best practices.
  • Conduct Mass Meeting toolbox talks at sites 
  • Promote awareness regarding the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), machine safety, and behaviour-based safety initiatives.

Risk Assessment: 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop risk assessments and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), and validate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure alignment with safety standards.
  • Coordinate closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safety during both routine and non-routine activities, minimizing risks across all work processes.

Emergency Preparedness: 

  • Ensure the availability, accessibility, and routine maintenance of all firefighting equipment, emergency alarms, and first-aid facilities across the premises.
  • Develop, review, and update the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) in accordance with statutory requirements and site-specific risks.
  • Conduct periodic emergency drills (e.g., fire evacuation, chemical spill response) to assess preparedness and improve response effectiveness among employees.

Data Management 

  • Demonstrate proficiency in data compilation, interpretation, analysis, and presentation, with the ability to generate clear and actionable management reports.
  • Actively participate in Cross-Functional Audits and ensure accurate and timely maintenance of audit documentation, including secure storage and accessibility via platforms such as OneDrive or other centralized systems.

  1. Knowledge, skills and experience (Minimum level)

 

Educational qualifications  B.Sc or Dip & Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety from state board/ RLI / CLI 
Relevant experience 

 

3–7 years in a manufacturing/steel/metal industry with strong knowledge of plant safety practices

Mandatory to know speak , Write , and Read  Hindi , English
