About the role

Tao Group Hospitality will be inviting four students in New York to participate in an immersive 8-week paid culinary youth program.  This program is designed for current high school juniors and seniors.  The program is ideal for aspiring chefs and food enthusiasts who want to gain hands-on experience and explore all aspects of a professional kitchen.  Tao Group Hospitality is a dynamic global hospitality company, inspiring remarkable experiences for our guests, instilling pride within our team, and always caring for our communities.

The program will cover culinary fundamentals, including knife skills, cooking techniques, and food safety and sanitation. Participants will rotate through different kitchen stations, such as prep, line, and pastry, to gain exposure to various roles and responsibilities in a professional kitchen setting. In addition, participants will also follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and plating instructions to prepare dishes with precision and consistency. They will develop time management skills to effectively coordinate tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The program will also provide insight into various career pathways in the culinary industry, including opportunities in restaurants, catering, hospitality, food media, and culinary education. By participating in this program, students will gain practical skills, industry knowledge, and hands-on experience to kickstart their culinary journey and pursue their passion for food with confidence and enthusiasm.
