Primary Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and enhance high-quality features for JCPenney.com.
Analyze and refine business requirements with product owners and translate them into scalable technical designs.
Develop reusable, maintainable, and performant client-side applications using JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
Collaborate with backend teams to define API contracts and integration patterns.
Write and maintain unit tests and ensure code coverage meets established standards.
Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, performance problems, and customer-impacting defects.
Apply web standards, accessibility guidelines, responsive design principles, and cross-browser best practices.
Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices, tools, and processes.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of professional experience in front-end or web application development.
Strong expertise in JavaScript, ES6+, HTML5, and CSS3.
Significant experience building production applications using React, Angular, or a comparable JavaScript framework.
Experience developing high-performance, high-traffic web applications.
Strong understanding of reusable component design, software design patterns, and modular architecture.
Experience with unit testing and test-driven development practices.
Experience with CSS preprocessors such as Sass, Less, or PostCSS.
Experience with responsive and adaptive design principles.
Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and core computer science fundamentals.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Webpack, Gulp, Grunt, or similar build tools.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Travis CI.
Experience with server-side rendering, web performance optimization, and caching.
Knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG.
