This role will serve as a Talent Marketing Events Lead, owning the strategy, planning, and execution of in‑person, virtual, and hybrid recruitment events and employer brand experiences. This individual will partner closely with Talent Acquisition, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver scalable, compliant, and high‑impact experiential activations across the system.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the events and experiential marketing lead within Talent Marketing, owning end‑to‑end planning and execution of in‑person, virtual, and hybrid recruitment events
- Partner closely with Talent Acquisition to understand hiring priorities, talent personas, and workforce plans, and translate them into targeted event strategies and engagement experiences
- Lead the strategy, calendar planning, and delivery of recruitment events including career fairs, campus engagements, leadership hiring events, virtual hiring days, webinars, and employer brand experiences
- Act as the central cross‑functional coordinator, partnering with Legal, Compliance, Procurement, Finance, Risk, IT, Facilities, Corporate Marketing, and HR to secure required reviews, approvals, contracts, and sign‑offs
- Ensure all events and activations are fully compliant with Optum and UnitedHealth Group policies, brand standards, data privacy requirements, and regional regulations
- Consult with internal stakeholders to translate talent needs into compelling, brand‑aligned event messaging and narratives that resonate with target audiences
- Collaborate with creative partners, media agencies, and internal teams to ideate, design, and execute integrated event campaigns across digital, social, email, and on‑ground channels
- Manage event vendors and partners end‑to‑end, including briefs, budgets, contracts, timelines, production, logistics, and post‑event reconciliation
- Own event project management, including run‑of‑show planning, stakeholder communications, risk mitigation, contingency planning, and on‑site / live virtual execution
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to bring experiential concepts to life, ensuring a seamless and high‑quality candidate experience
- Track and analyze event performance metrics (attendance, engagement, applications, conversions, cost per lead, ROI) and provide actionable insights and optimization recommendations
- Maintain documentation, playbooks, and best practices to support scalable, repeatable, and efficient event execution across regions
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while contributing to broader Talent Marketing and Employer Brand initiatives
- Partner with fellow team members to share insights, improve processes, and elevate overall impact

Qualifications – External
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, business, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in event marketing, experiential marketing, employer branding, or talent acquisition marketing, preferably in a large matrixed organization
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience planning and executing in‑person, virtual, and hybrid events end‑to‑end
- Proven experience coordinating with cross‑functional teams (Legal, Compliance, Procurement, Finance, IT, Facilities, and Corporate Marketing) to secure approvals and manage governance
- Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple events, timelines, budgets, and stakeholders simultaneously
- Experience working with external vendors and agencies, including contracting, briefing, and performance management
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a deadline‑driven, highly matrixed environment
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills (internal and external)
- Advanced organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Proven ability to work with ambiguity, adapt quickly, and problem‑solve in live event environments
