Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Inventory/Warehouse Ops Manager to lead our logistics and inventory management functions. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of hands-on experience in end-to-end warehouse management, with a strong command over MIS reporting and Inventory Control.
A key differentiator for this role is expertise in Risk Management & Insurance Claims. You will be responsible not just for moving stock efficiently, but for recovering costs through timely insurance filing for damaged, lost, or pilfered goods.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inward & Outward Stock Management
• Inward (GRN): Oversee the receipt of goods, ensuring physical verification against invoices/PO. Manage the Quality Check (QC) process and ensure timely 'Put-Away' (binning) of stock to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Outward (Dispatch): Supervise the pick-and-pack process to ensure 100% dispatch accuracy. Implement strategies like FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expiry, First Out).
• Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with transporters and 3PL partners for vehicle placement and on-time delivery.
• TAT Management: Monitor Turn-Around-Time (TAT) for both unloading (inward) and dispatch (outward) to prevent vehicle detention charges.
2. MIS & Data Analytics
• Daily Reporting: Publish daily MIS reports on stock levels, order fill rates, pending orders, and dispatch volume.
• Variance Analysis: Analyze discrepancies between physical stock and system stock (ERP) and conduct root cause analysis (RCA).
• KPI Tracking: Monitor key metrics such as Inventory Turnover Ratio, Cost Per Order, and Order Accuracy.
• Dashboarding: Create advanced Excel/Power BI dashboards for management review to highlight operational bottlenecks.
3. Insurance Claims & Risk Management
• Claim Filing: End-to-end management of insurance claims for goods damaged in transit (GIT), short deliveries, or warehouse damages (fire/theft/leakage).
• Documentation: Prepare all necessary legal and support documents for claims, including Incident Reports, Non Delivery Reports (NDR), Damage Certificates, and FIRs (if required).
• Surveyor Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for Insurance Surveyors; schedule inspections and negotiate fair assessments of loss.
• Recovery: Track claim status and ensure timely settlement and credit to the company account.
4. Inventory Control & Audit
• Conduct periodic cycle counts and lead the annual Wall-to-Wall stock audit.
• Identify slow-moving and obsolete inventory (SLOB) and propose liquidation plans to management.
• Maintain hygiene and safety standards (EHS) within the warehouse.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
Experience
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Warehouse/Logistics operations.
• Crucial: Proven track record of successfully filing and settling insurance claims (Marine/Transit Insurance & Standard Fire and Special Perils Policy).
Technical Skills
• ERP Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Zoho Inventory.
• Advanced Excel: Mastery of VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros, and Conditional Formatting for MIS.
Key Competencies
• Strong vendor and transporter negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage a team of 15+ staff (supervisors, pickers, loaders).
• Deep understanding of Transit Insurance clauses and claim procedures.
