TAE Life Sciences (TLS) is a biologically targeted radiation therapy company focused on developing novel treatment to improve the lives of patients with difficult-to-treat cancers. TLS has developed breakthrough technology for the clinical investigation of Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) to provide a treatment option for patients with malignancies that are difficult to treat through traditional methods, such as head, neck and brain cancers. Our proprietary accelerator-based BNCT platform combines two well-known modalities - biological targeting and radiation therapy - for precision treatment at the cellular level.
We currently have an opening at our Santa Monica, CA. Labs for a Project Manager. The successful candidate will join a world class medical accelerator program and drug development group focused on Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT). The candidate will work as a member of the Santa Monica Office which mainly focuses on targeted boron drug development for BNCT. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple programs but will be mainly responsible for managing activities related to bringing TLS lead compound, boronotyrosine (BTS), to the clinic. The candidate will also help to manage other internal and external programs such as internal project meetings and collaborations with domestic and non-domestic partners
About the Job
- Schedule meetings, note keeping and sending out minutes in a timely manner
- Work with the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and the rest of the team to ensure that programs remain focused on the highest priority topics and that resources and people are identified to support this
- Work seamlessly with teams in Santa Monica and sometimes at TLS Head Quarters in Orange County, to ensure that projects are coordinated well and address drug development and corporate goals
- With advice from the Drug Development team, create and maintain schedules so projects are appropriately tasked and have realistic deadlines
- Identify key milestones, timing requirements, risk reduction and performance targets with the backing of the team
- Communicate program and project status by preparing status reports and presenting them in status update meetings
- Manage changes in project scope, schedule, risk and costs as needed
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels between groups in Drug Development
- Prepare for and manage meetings with internal and external participants, taking minutes and ensuring action items are followed up on
- Potential travel to offsite facilities to help with project liaison
About You
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in managing complex projects with multiple stake holders.
- Project management experience with chemistry/pharmaceutical background is a key differentiator
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with project management software such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Asana, Monday.com, ClickUp, and Trell
- Gantt chart experience
- Willing to adopt AI in a considered manner
- Work effectively with Drug Team and other teams in the company
- Experience growing and leading technical project organizations
- Skilled and experienced in managing cross-functional teams, including breakdown of projects into tasks, effective assignment & delegation of tasks among team members while ensuring balanced workload, and follow-through to ensure completion and provision of support.
- Ability to thrive in a challenging, dynamic environment. Must have good time management skills, flexibility, and be quick to adapt to sudden changes and issues.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and work independently with little supervision while maintaining a high level of efficiency and follow through
- Experience in independent problem solving and quantitative analysis
- Excellent communication skills
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field. Or qualifications related to project management in the pharmaceutical sector.
