The Tacoma Rescue Mission (TRM) is a faith-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to support all people - including clients, volunteers, community partners, and staff - to become their best. We provide emergency services such as shelter and meals to neighbors experiencing homelessness. We offer supportive housing and addiction recovery programs that promote self-sufficiency, sustainable transformation, and stability. We share our Christian faith within a loving and inclusive community.

Job Purpose:
Supports TRM programs by assisting in the acquisition, distribution, and inventory of products, and processing product requests based on client needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Establishes and manages systems to support the resource needs of TRM programs and clients.
• Develops and streamlines systems as needed (e.g. resource requisition and distribution, etc.).
• Maintains appropriate inventory of most often used items for clients and programs.
• Attends TRM and community events and meetings as requested.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to work as part of a team; be self-directed as well as a collaborative team player; balances team and individual responsibilities.
• Proficient in basic computer applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook).
• Access to a vehicle for frequent travel throughout Pierce County and TRM locations.
• Ability to operate TRM vans for the purposes of supporting the needs of the program.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Successful completion of TRM driving test.
• Provides donation processing support (e.g. coordinates reception of donor specified gifts-in-kind and internal distribution of donations, solicits in-kind donations for TRM programs, etc.)
• Maintains and organizes storeroom and in-kind donations (e.g., inventory management, organizes supplies, etc.) at the Donation Center.
• Coordinates with programs and external partners to organize donation drives to meet program needs.
• Maintains accurate database records of all TRM vehicles and maintenance schedules, and monitors completion of maintenance logs.
• Monitors the activities of volunteers and donation center drives as needed.
• Embodies the values that form our culture to meet the organization’s mission of sharing God’s love, hope, and support with our neighbors in need to uplift communities.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support others and ensure an efficient and effective work environment.

Physical Requirements
• Stationary position 50% of the time.
• Occasionally lifts and moves items up to 40 pounds.
• Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Observes details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• Frequently move boxes weighing up to 25 pounds across office for various needs.
• Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.
• Operates a vehicle (12-passenger van).
• Wears proper PPE (personal protective equipment) when necessary for exposure control.

• Attention to detail - consistent and methodical approach and ability to maintain accurate and transparent operational and programmatic structure.
• Excellent oral and written communication - ability to read, write, and analyze reports, correspondence, data, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and answer questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
