Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Tableau Developer role based in Bengaluru. As a Tableau Developer, you will be responsible for designing and creating dashboards, performing data modeling, and ensuring efficient and effective data visualization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, utilize analytical skills to derive insights, and support data processes such as ETL and data warehousing.
Dashboard Development
- Build and maintain dynamic Tableau dashboards (KPIs, funnels, cohorts, trend analysis)
- Create governed semantic data sources for consistent, reliable reporting
- Develop advanced Tableau features: LODs, parameters, actions, drill-downs
Data Modelling & SQL
- Write and optimise SQL on distributed systems (Presto, Trino, BigQuery, Snowflake)
- Improve query performance and dashboard load times (<10 seconds)
- Manage extracts vs live connections and refresh strategies
Governance & Access Control
- Implement row-level security (RLS) using USERNAME() and entitlement logic
- Manage Tableau Server: users, permissions, subscriptions, alerts
- Maintain data source catalogues and governance standards
Automation & Integration
- Automate workflows using Tableau REST API, tabcmd, CLI
- Integrate dashboards with tools like Google Sheets, Slack, and email
- Collaborate with data engineering on upstream pipelines (dbt, CDC, Hudi/Iceberg)
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Translate business questions into meaningful insights
- Define and document metrics to ensure a single source of truth
- Validate dashboard data with SQL and source systems
Must-Have Skills- 3–6 years of hands-on Tableau (Desktop & Server) experience
- Strong SQL (CTEs, window functions, optimisation)
- Expertise in LOD expressions (FIXED, INCLUDE, EXCLUDE)
- Performance tuning (extracts vs live, filters, refresh strategies)
- Tableau Server administration & governance
- Experience with Tableau REST API + Python/R
- Version control (Git) & CI/CD basics
- Strong stakeholder communication skills
Good to Have- Experience with Salesforce data models
- Exposure to EV / Mobility / D2C / Manufacturing / Financial metrics
- Knowledge of dbt, Airflow, or similar tools
- Familiarity with Hudi, Iceberg, Delta Lake
- Tableau certifications
