About Us:
Join a team that is redefining the accessibility of space. Azista space is a transformative force in the global aerospace sector, uniquely positioned at the intersection of indigenous innovation and industrial scalability. Operating India’s first private-sector satellite mass-production facility in Ahmedabad, we have bridged the gap between complex engineering and high-volume manufacturing.
As a vertically integrated leader, we provide end-to-end solutions from the precision design of satellite buses and advanced payloads to mission management and communication systems. We don’t just build hardware, we are democratizing the final frontier by providing global clientele with the cost-effective, high-performance technology needed to power the next generation of orbital missions. At Azista, you won't just be starting a job, you’ll be fuelling the future of space exploration.
About the Role:
Azista Space is looking for a Systems Engineer – Spacecraft Electronics to join our Bengaluru team and help build the next generation of high-performance satellite systems. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about spacecraft avionics, RF systems, embedded electronics, and satellite integration, with the opportunity to work across the full mission lifecycle — from architecture and design to launch and in-orbit operations.
As part of one of India’s leading private space technology companies, you will contribute to cutting-edge satellite programs while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams shaping the future of accessible and scalable space technology.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and integrate spacecraft electronics, avionics, RF systems, power distribution systems, and communication interfaces aligned with space-grade reliability and EMI/EMC compliance standards.
- Define and optimize system architectures, power budgets, mass budgets, and data handling strategies for satellite electronic subsystems.
- Lead and execute HIL/SIL testing, functional validation, EMI/EMC testing, vibration, shock, and thermal vacuum (TVAC) qualification activities.
- Perform radiation analysis and reliability assessments, including TID, SEE, FMEA/FMECA, derating analysis, and worst-case analysis (WCA) for mission-critical electronics.
- Develop and integrate FPGA-based systems, embedded controllers, and avionics software interfaces using technologies such as VHDL, Verilog, microcontrollers, and space communication protocols.
- Integrate spacecraft electronics with EPS, OBDH, ADCS, propulsion, and communication subsystems, ensuring seamless cross-functional interoperability.
- Support spacecraft launch campaigns, LEOP operations, in-orbit commissioning, anomaly investigation, and corrective action implementation.
- Create and maintain critical engineering documentation including ICDs, CONOPS, V&V plans, system specifications, test procedures, and design review documentation (SRR/PDR/CDR).
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams, manufacturing, mission operations, and external stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable spacecraft solutions.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 2+ years of experience in satellite systems engineering, spacecraft electronics, avionics, or aerospace systems integration.
- Strong expertise in spacecraft power systems, avionics integration, RF electronics, PCB design, FPGA-based systems, and embedded electronics.
- Hands-on knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance, radiation-hardened design, FMEA/FMECA, reliability engineering, and environmental qualification testing.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE, circuit simulation tools, and hardware validation workflows.
- Experience with space communication interfaces and protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, SpaceWire, and MIL-STD-1553.
- Familiarity with FPGA development using VHDL/Verilog and embedded software integration.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and systems-thinking capabilities with excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on smallsat/microsat missions, COTS-for-space systems, or satellite avionics platforms.
- Familiarity with ISRO, ESA, ECSS, MIL-STD, or aerospace qualification standards.
- Proficiency with EDA tools such as Altium Designer or KiCad.
- Experience with Python or MATLAB scripting for automation, test systems, and data analysis.
- Exposure to spacecraft integration campaigns, mission operations, or in-orbit troubleshooting.
