About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Test Engineering Lead to join Qualcomm’s dynamic engineering team. This role is pivotal in driving quality improvements and enhancing customer satisfaction for our WiFi and Networking access points. As a key member of the System Test team, you will be responsible for defining and executing comprehensive testing strategies, developing test plans, automation frameworks, and tools to validate and qualify Qualcomm’s connectivity solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, systems, and architecture to ensure the delivery of robust, production-grade software and firmware to end users. Your leadership will influence continuous testing and automation strategies, ensuring that quality standards are consistently met and exceeded.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics & Communications, or a related field. Extensive experience in software engineering, with a strong background in embedded systems and connectivity solutions, is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, or Java is required. A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience is expected for senior roles, with advanced degrees potentially reducing the required years of experience. Experience in automation, test development, and working with cross-disciplinary teams will be highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for testing, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and mentor engineering teams effectively.
Responsibilities
- Operate with a customer-centric mindset, recognizing that all customer-reported issues are opportunities to enhance quality assurance processes.
- Analyze new features and develop comprehensive test plans, including creating new test cases to cover various scenarios.
- Manage testing infrastructure, develop test topologies, and prepare detailed use cases for validation and verification.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as software, hardware, systems, and network operations to support end-to-end product releases.
- Lead small teams of engineers in troubleshooting, gathering, and interpreting data from multiple sources to identify root causes of issues and implement solutions.
- Mentor and train team members, sharing expertise on complex features, testing strategies, automation, and best practices.
- Conduct log analysis with team members to pinpoint issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Engage with colleagues within the domain to share insights, ideas, and foster collaborative problem-solving.
- Coordinate with functional and lab teams, IO teams, network operators, and product management to ensure testing plans accurately address feature and system issues.
