Introduction
We are looking for an experienced and proactive System Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining enterprise infrastructure, monitoring system performance, ensuring system security, and supporting cloud and network operations to maintain reliable and secure IT services.
This position is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in Linux/Windows administration, cloud infrastructure, networking, DevOps practices, and system monitoring who are eager to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Install and configure servers and application software.
Ensure adequate memory allocation and resolve software failures and dependency issues.
Manage hardware and software configurations while maintaining user access policies.
Create and maintain user accounts and access permissions.
Maintain system security by defining appropriate user roles and access levels.
Perform backup and restoration of files and system data.
Monitor the performance and health of Linux systems and troubleshoot system failures.
Identify system bottlenecks and implement performance optimization solutions.
Utilize system tools to improve performance and determine hardware upgrade requirements.
Configure and maintain secure systems and infrastructure.
Create and modify scripts or applications to automate operational tasks.
Implement DevOps principles and manage CI/CD pipelines.
Configure and manage LAN/WAN connectivity, switches, and routers.
Monitor infrastructure and respond to security vulnerabilities and attack risks.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth and secure IT operations.
Maintain proper documentation for system configurations, SOPs, and troubleshooting activities. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
Apply logical and analytical thinking in troubleshooting and infrastructure management.
Skills Required
Strong fundamentals in Linux/Unix/Windows systems and understanding of subsystems such as memory, storage, and networking.
Good knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, Routing, High Availability (HA), and Load Balancing.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash and Python along with automation tools.
Hands-on experience in installation, configuration, and administration of Unix/Linux servers.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios or Zabbix.
Experience with Linux security monitoring, patching, and system hardening.
Strong networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
Experience implementing and managing cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud, and DigitalOcean.
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience managing Office 365 environments.
Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline management is considered an added advantage.
Knowledge of virtualization technologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
