Role: System Architect / Product Definition Engineer
We are looking for a strong System Architect / Product Definition Engineer to join our Power Products Business Unit and drive front-end product definition for next-generation power semiconductor solutions. Someone with strong experience in power electronics, semiconductor product definition, isolated gate drivers, isolated power supplies, GaN/SiC power stages, IBC/PoL converters, and system-level modeling.
This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of customer requirements, system architecture, product strategy, and execution feasibility
The role will focus on defining and validating products such as:
- Isolated Gate Drivers
- Isolated Power Supplies
- Intermediate Bus Converters — IBC
- Point-of-Load Converters — PoL
- GaN / SiC / MOSFET-based Power Stages
- Hot-Swap / eFuse solutions
- Data-center and industrial power platforms
The candidate will work closely with customers, Product Management, R&D, Applications, Sales/FAE, Packaging, and Operations to convert customer needs into technically feasible and commercially meaningful product definitions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Capture customer and market requirements
- Define product features, target datasheets, EC tables, and functional blocks
- Perform early feasibility analysis using SIMPLIS / SPICE / system-level models
- Support power-loss, efficiency, thermal, and topology trade-off studies
- Prepare simulation-backed customer proposals and internal product business cases
- Ensure customer commitments are technically credible before product development starts
Required Experience and Qualifications
Experience with package, thermal, and layout considerations for high-speed power conversion.
Experience supporting customer RFQs, product proposals, and early-stage technical evaluations.
Familiarity with automotive, industrial, energy, or data-center qualification requirements.
Ability to work in a start-up environment with high ownership and cross-functional ambiguity.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Semiconductor Engineering, or related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in power electronics, semiconductor product definition, system architecture, applications engineering.
Strong understanding of power semiconductor devices, including:
- Si MOSFETs
- GaN FETs
- SiC MOSFETs
- IGBTs
- Diodes / rectifiers
Hands-on understanding of power-conversion topologies such as:
- Buck converters
- Multiphase buck converters
- LLC converters
- Phase-shift full bridge
- Flyback / forward converters
- Half-bridge / full-bridge converters
- Hot-swap / eFuse protection circuits
- Gate-driver circuits
Experience with isolated gate drivers, isolated power supplies, or high-voltage isolation products.
Experience with simulation and modeling tools such as SIMPLIS, SPICE, PSpice, LTspice, MATLAB / Simulink, or equivalent.
Ability to create system-level loss models, thermal models, and feasibility studies.
