Job Title: System Administrator
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled, strategic Systems Administrator to take ownership of our core IT infrastructure and serve as the highest level of technical escalation for our India-based team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the architecture, deployment, maintenance, and security of our server, network, and cloud environments. Moving beyond day-to-day helpdesk tickets, you will leverage advanced IT automation tools to engineer zero-touch deployments and streamlined infrastructure. We are looking for an autonomous problem-solver who possesses top-notch communication skills, elite critical-thinking abilities for complex system outages, and a dedication to building scalable IT frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Ownership & Escalation: Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical issues. Own the health, uptime, and performance of local and cloud-based servers, networks, and enterprise applications.
- Advanced IT Automation & Scripting: Engineer and manage Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) platforms (e.g., ConnectWise Automate). Write and maintain advanced scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate system deployments, security patching, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Systems Architecture & Deployment: Provision, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers, enterprise storage solutions, and advanced software packages across Windows and Linux environments.
- Network & Security Management: Architect and manage enterprise networks (LAN/WAN/VPN) and network hardware. Ensure systems adhere to security best practices, perform regular audits, and manage disaster recovery protocols.
- Process Engineering & Tool Management: Act as a platform owner for core IT systems (Ticketing, RMM, MDM). Identify process bottlenecks and engineer workflows that improve global IT efficiency.
- Knowledge Base & Documentation: Champion enterprise-level IT documentation. Create and maintain architectural diagrams, disaster recovery plans, and advanced technical playbooks for the broader IT team.
Technical Expertise Required
- Networking & Infrastructure: Advanced configuration and management of enterprise networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols, Cisco Meraki (firewalls, switches, WAPs), and Site-to-Site VPNs.
- Operating Systems & Virtualization: Deep administration experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (Ubuntu/RedHat/CentOS). Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and endpoint OS management (Windows 10/11, macOS).
- Microsoft Ecosystem & Cloud: Advanced expertise in Microsoft 365 tenant administration, Entra ID (Azure AD), SSO integrations (SAML/OIDC), and hybrid cloud environments (Azure or AWS).
- Enterprise IT Management Tools: Administration of Endpoint Management, MDM, and RMM tools (e.g., ConnectWise Automate, Microsoft Intune, Jamf Pro).
- Database & Web Infrastructure: Working knowledge of managing and querying databases (Microsoft SQL Server/MySQL) and hosting environments (WordPress CMS, IIS, Apache/Nginx).
- AI for IT: Experience leveraging modern AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to optimize advanced scripting, conduct deep-dive log analysis, and accelerate complex infrastructure troubleshooting.
Skills And Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 2-3 years dedicated to Systems Administration, Network Engineering, or IT Infrastructure management.
- Top-Notch Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to translate complex architectural concepts and outage reports to executive stakeholders and non-technical staff.
- Critical Thinking & Resilience: Elite troubleshooting skills. You don't just apply temporary fixes; you systemically identify root causes to prevent future failures. You remain composed and lead the charge during critical system outages.
- Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. Industry certifications strongly preferred (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Security+, RHCSA).
