Role Description This is a part-time (project based), remote Synchro (4D & 5D) Specialist role. The Synchro Specialist will develop, update, and maintain 4D and 5D construction models by integrating project schedules and cost data with 3D models to support planning and project controls. This role includes collaborating closely with project managers, planners, BIM coordinators, and site teams to validate model inputs, identify clashes or sequencing issues, and optimize construction phasing. The specialist will prepare visual simulations, construction sequence animations, and scenario analyses for internal stakeholders and client presentations. Daily responsibilities also include data validation, troubleshooting model and software issues, documenting workflows and standards, and contributing to continuous improvement of digital construction processes. The role may involve coordination with global project teams, adherence to client and industry standards, and support for training and knowledge-sharing across the organization.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Synchro 4D, Synchro 5D, and related 4D/5D planning tools, with a proven ability to integrate schedules and cost data into 3D models.
- Solid understanding of project planning and controls, including construction scheduling (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and cost management workflows.
- Hands-on experience with BIM and 3D modeling platforms (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, or similar) and familiarity with model coordination and clash detection.
- Ability to interpret and work from construction drawings, models, BOQs, and technical specifications to create accurate and practical 4D/5D sequences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify sequencing conflicts, logistical constraints, and optimization opportunities within the model environment.
- Effective communication skills to present 4D/5D simulations, explain modeling assumptions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
