Role Description
The Symphony Automation Engineer role is a full-time on-site position based in Chennai. In this role, the engineer will develop, configure, and maintain automation workflows using the Symphony platform to optimize enterprise operations. Responsibilities include understanding client requirements, creating reliable workflow solutions, performing system diagnostics, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring seamless integration across enterprise landscapes. The engineer will also troubleshoot issues, enhance existing workflows, and provide support for system optimization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates a strong desire to continuously expand knowledge in automation, orchestration platforms, and agentic technologies.
• Design and implement automation workflows and job orchestration pipelines across enterprise environments.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and efficient automation solutions.
• Engage with customers for requirement gathering, solution design, and delivery.
• Onboard and adapt existing scripts and automation processes into orchestration platforms.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize workflows to ensure reliability and performance.
• Support migration activities from legacy schedulers (e.g., Stonebranch, Control-M) to modern orchestration platforms.
• Contribute to platform enhancements, feature development, and product innovation initiatives.
• Prioritize and manage multiple automation tasks to meet delivery timelines and commitments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including SAP, infrastructure, cloud, and database teams.
Requirements:
• 6–8 years of experience in automation, workflow orchestration, or enterprise scheduling environments.
• Strong experience with automation/orchestration tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Stonebranch, Control-M, or similar.
• Solid understanding of workflow orchestration concepts, scheduling, and job dependencies.
• Hands-on experience in scripting (Python / Shell / Bash).
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in customer interaction, requirement gathering, and solution delivery.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and emerging technologies.
• Experience in migrating legacy scheduling tools to modern automation platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Python and advanced scripting capabilities.
• Exposure to AI/ML, LLMs, or agentic automation concepts.
• Experience working with SAP or other enterprise applications.
• Knowledge of APIs, integrations, and event-driven architecture.
• Cloud platform exposure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience working in large-scale orchestration environments.
• Exposure to product-based platforms or contribution to feature development.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or a related field.
• Preferred: Master’s degree or relevant certifications in Automation, Cloud, or related technologies.
