Symetra's Internship Program for Summer 2026 is entirely remote - all interns will learn and work in a virtual setting. The internship duration is 12 weeks.

Summary

The Software Test Engineer Intern supports the testing of ILD products by helping run test cases, maintain testing documentation, and ensure new and updated features work as expected. This role involves collaborating with team members, learning and applying testing best practices, and assisting with efforts to improve and streamline testing processes.

Responsibilities

• Migrate ILD test artifacts into Symetra's TCM tool
• Employ automated or manual testing approaches to test new and updated functionality for ILD products.
• Use existing regression capabilities to execute repeatable test cases and identify opportunities to automate.
• Set up and leverage Playwright or Selenium to automate repetitive test cases, replacing manual testing efforts.
• Create and maintain test artifacts, adopting ILD testing standards.
• Share knowledge of applying ILD testing standards with others to ensure sustainability and reusability.
• Participate actively in Testing SIG.
• Participate in test automation strategy for non-web solutions.
