Reporting

Responsibilities
· Monitoring and Reporting
o Generate and distribute both monthly and yearly reports as directed.
o Complete ODEC Load Transfer reports.
o Determine circuit reliabilities and make recommendations for patrol and improvement on a continuous basis.
o Verify outage reports and associated coding daily.
o Justify system events and related outages.
o Support System Engineering and Districts in researching reliability issues.
· Support all disaster recovery and emergency plans.
· Administer the yearly Operations Center staffing schedule to accommodate all situations including daily, nightly, and weather event staffing.
· As needed, serve as a point of contact for neighboring utilities regarding switching, associated documentation and execution, and other collaborative objectives.
· Monitor weather forecasts for potential extreme or damaging events and make recommendations to Manager of System Operations on needed resources and areas of impact.
· Coordinate with Engineering and Operations Managers and/or Supervisors for after-hours activation of district offices during major events. Provide system operator staffing and support at the activated district office as needed.
· Audit operations logs daily.
· Operate and interrogate the SCADA system.
· Stay abreast with all software associated with SVEC operations including but not limited to DataVoice, ARCOS, Partner, Clevest, Simoco, Yukon, and Weather Services.
· Serves as the primary administrator of and contact for Arcos.
· Monitor daily ODEC and PJM load information to ensure that SVEC is in load control during the projected peak times.
· Ensure all record keeping associated with load control is completed..
· Verify and communicate monthly peaks as requested.
· Accurately author, distribute, execute and monitor the execution of system switching orders.
· Ensure that all electronic tagging is completed and accurate for all required devices.
· Communicate necessary map changes to the GIS department.
· Perform training/review for Cooperative personnel on OMS, service order entry and other training that is deemed relevant or required.
· Perform training/review for System Operators on Coordinated Emergency loading events including Post Contingency Local Load Relief Warnings.
· Coordinate and document all training for new and existing system operators.
· Ensure that Operations Center policies are being accurately and consistently followed.
· This position will serve as the first point of contact for all after hours needs associated with the Operations Center.
· Assist in special projects as necessary.
Education and Experience
· Associate’s degree in a related field or related experience and/or training equivalent required.
· Minimum 3 years’ experience as a System Operator or related position in an electric distribution utility.
· System Operator Certification required or the ability to complete within 18 months of hire date.
· Experience in data entry and computer operations including PC applications.
Required Skills and Abilities
· Must be able to maintain professionalism and control under all circumstances.
· Has and maintains a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record and is able to safely operate SVEC vehicles.
· Must become and remain certified in CPR and first aid.
· Ability to handle the challenge of operating efficiently under a very flexible schedule due to the number of unanticipated and unplanned requests for services from the various individuals, departments and outside contacts with whom this position is involved.
· Must possess exceptional analytical and retention skills in order to analyze and understand the interaction of multiple variables and apply that understanding to arrive at a safe, defensible solution.
· Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to maintain open, positive relationships with a wide range of groups, including Cooperative members, Cooperative employees, vendors, and the general public.
· Must be able to interpret and translate technical concepts into applications and practical needs.

· Must be well organized and be able to carry out multiple work assignments with minimal supervision.
· Must be able to effectively communicate with employees, member/owners, and the public verbally and in writing.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
· Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work.
Physical Requirements
· Participation in SVEC job safety and training programs, relevant workshops, seminars and other SVEC sponsored courses and events. Some travel required.
· Must be able to use office equipment including telephone, computer, and other systems and related software in the performance of position responsibilities.
· Must be available during any and all types of weather conditions, to work weekends, holidays, evenings and other times outside normal duty hours to assist in service restoration and other emergencies that may arise or when the workload demands.
· Must always maintain an operating telephone or personal communication device at his/her place of residence.
· This position involves primarily inside work. Must be able to lift objects unassisted (up to 30 pounds). Some standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to a minimal degree.
· Outside of extenuating circumstances, this position will work primarily day shift during normal business hours.
