About the Role

We are in search of an enthusiastic, conscientious, and organised individual to join AVPN as an Intern, Sustainable Finance.

Sustainable finance in this context will cover the entire continuum of capital including philanthropy, blended finance as well as ESG. You will be working with the Chief of Sustainable Finance based in NY, and colleagues in their respective markets to deliver sustainable finance activities. Through this work, you will gain an overview of the fast-growing social investment sector in Asia, and learn about the impactful work of solution providers on the ground. This position will report directly to the Chief of Sustainable Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of sustainable finance initiatives across AVPN, including blended finance and catalytic capital engagements.
  • Conduct thematic, market, and ecosystem landscaping related to sustainable finance
  • Support with the development and execution of strategies, projects and programmes
  • Coordinate inputs across internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of briefs, presentations, and thought leadership content.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of events and initiatives

Requirements

Timeframe:

6-month minimum commitment part or full time.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in the Master in Public Administration or International Development (MPA/ID) programme.
  • Preferred; 2+ years of prior work experience in the development sector or in project, financial consulting, or management roles.
  • Ideal candidate must be a self-starter with a passion for driving social change and tackling challenges in the social sector ecosystem
  • Ability to conduct research, gather data and structure quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Demonstrate competency in time management and prioritising within multiple projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate and translate their ideas across different internal and external stakeholders
  • Willingness to work in an environment with minimal supervision and seeking continuous growth in themselves and the impact that we are creating through our work
  • Proficient in Google Suite and MS Office with strong written and verbal English and presentation skills.
  • Some work or educational experience, preferably in social investment /entrepreneurship/ finance/ sustainability.
  • Willingness and ability to work in an environment with colleagues across time zones and seek continuous growth in themselves and the impact that AVPN is creating through its work.
  • Candidate must be in a conducive time zone (India/Europe) as their manager
