A vibrant Sushi restaurant is seeking a highly motivated and organized Human Resources Specialist to join our team. This is a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day HR operations within our fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of HR principles, and a passion for building a positive employee experience. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. Responsibilities: Recruitment & Onboarding:Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and extending offers. Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.Conduct background checks and manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth and welcoming introduction to the company. Maintain accurate records of all recruitment activities. Employee Relations:Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, addressing them promptly and professionally. Assist in resolving employee issues and conflicts fairly and consistently, escalating complex matters to the HR Manager or senior leadership. Promote a positive and inclusive work environment Performance Management:Support the performance review process, including providing guidance to managers on performance evaluations and goal setting.Assist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans. HR Administration & Compliance:Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS system. Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations. Assist with HR audits. Manage employee leave requests (FMLA, sick leave, etc.) Training & Development:Assist in identifying training needs and developing training programs for employees. Coordinate and facilitate training sessions on various topics, such as customer service, food safety, and harassment prevention. Other Duties:Assist with other HR projects and tasks as needed. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in HR. Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
