Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Sushi Chef de Partie (DCDP) at the JW Marriott Bengaluru. The Sushi DCDP will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of sushi dishes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and presentation guidelines. The role involves maintaining a clean and organized work environment, sourcing high-quality ingredients, and collaborating with the kitchen team to refine sushi recipes. Additional responsibilities include training and mentoring junior kitchen staff and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proficient in preparing and presenting sushi and sashimi with advanced knife skills and an understanding of Japanese culinary techniques
- Ability to maintain high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety in accordance with established guidelines
- Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-demand kitchen environment and multitask effectively
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and training kitchen staff
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to maintaining culinary excellence
- Knowledge of inventory management and sourcing fresh, high-quality ingredients
- Degree or diploma in culinary arts or related field is preferred
- Prior experience in a similar role in a luxury hotel or fine-dining environment is an advantage
