Staffing Coordinator Job Summary:
The Staffing Coordinator for Nursing Services is responsible for the design and implementation of staffing patterns for licensed RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing assistant employees in accordance with the facility’s staffing needs, based on resident population and required timeframes.
Staffing Coordinator Major Duties and Critical Tasks:
- Establishes master and daily staffing patterns and schedules for nurses and nursing assistants
- Generates and maintains the master schedule in accordance with budgeted hours per patient day and staffing ratios
- Advises management of any scheduling or staffing changes
- Ensures nursing units are adequately staffed in accordance with facility policies and procedures
- Verifies previous day’s time clock reports and communicates discrepancies during morning meetings; reports verified issues to payroll
- Attends daily morning meetings to review schedules and identify any staffing gaps
- Distributes and collects department head labor verification sheets
- Meets daily with the Administrator, Director of Nursing, and HR to ensure accurate time records and updates on active and terminated staff
- Presents proposed schedules to the Director of Nursing for review prior to posting
Staffing Coordinator Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; college-level training preferred
- Must be a licensed CNA, RN, or LPN in the state of Florida (required)
- Staffing experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) preferred
- Previous scheduling or staffing experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of staffing processes, scheduling systems, and orientation coordination
