**Senior Platform Engineer** Full-time • London/Remote SurrealDB is looking for a talented Senior Platform Engineer. This promises to be an exciting role, with responsibility for building and shaping an industry-changing database product. Operating in London or remotely, you will have the skills and inspiration to push the boundaries of what is possible to achieve with SurrealDB Cloud’s goals. You will work on building, improving, and supporting the world’s fastest-growing open-source database-as-a-service platform and supporting the community as we grow. What will you do Build, orchestrate, and maintain a DB-as-a-Service offering of SurrealDB Coordinate improvements and feature requests with product and engineering teams Document systems, and automate processes Write and review technical proposals Support the online community with regards to cloud setup and management Actively engage with developers internally, and on social media platforms; and attend in-person and/or virtual events Plan, build, and help deliver the SurrealDB-as-a-service private cloud offering, leveraging container orchestration tools Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system security, stability, reliability, and performance Improve engineering standards, testing, tooling, and processes Contribute to the SurrealDB documentation Contribute to the SurrealDB blog with posts focussed on cloud and devops About you Proven work experience in this role Production-level experience of Docker and container orchestration and micro-services architecture Experience of TiKV a major plus Experience of Amazon Web Services and/or Google Cloud Analytical and multi-tasking skills Extensive experience in Linux/Unix administration Experience of container orchestration technology (e.g. Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform) a major plus Experience of distributed systems, load balancing, and system monitoring Excellent communication ability Willingness to adapt to remote work and collaborate with a remote workforce operating in different time zones We understand that each candidate brings a unique set of skills and experiences, and we encourage applicants to apply even if you do not meet every qualification listed in the job description.
