Surgical Specialists of Charlotte is seeking a dependable, service-oriented Patient Service Representative Floater to support front office operations across our locations as staffing needs arise. This role is ideal for someone who is adaptable, organized, and comfortable stepping into different office environments to help maintain a smooth, professional, and patient-centered experience. As a Patient Service Representative Floater, you will serve as a key first point of contact for patients and visitors while helping to ensure continuity of operations wherever support is needed. This position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a willingness to travel to any of our practice locations to fill coverage gaps and support the needs of the organization. Travel to various practice locations is an essential function of this role and is expected to occur at least 50% of the time based on business and staffing needs. What You Will Do · Greet patients and visitors in a warm, professional, and courteous manner · Answer and route incoming calls appropriately · Schedule appointments, including follow-up, recheck, and post-operative visits · Support patient registration by entering and updating demographic and insurance information accurately · Verify insurance eligibility, referrals, co-payments, deductibles, and other patient financial responsibility prior to or at the time of service · Assist patients with electronic check-in and scan required documentation as needed · Collect co-payments, balances, and other payments in accordance with practice policy · Enroll patients in the patient portal and provide support with front office technology when needed · Prepare and organize documentation to support daily office readiness · Process faxes, manage incoming documentation, and assist with general administrative front office tasks · Help maintain smooth front office workflow and provide operational support wherever coverage is needed · Travel to any Surgical Specialists of Charlotte location based on business needs and staffing gaps What We Are Looking For · High school diploma or equivalent required · Two to three years of healthcare office experience preferred · Strong customer service and communication skills · Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment · High attention to detail and accuracy · Comfort learning and navigating systems such as NextGen EPM and other front office technology · Flexibility, dependability, and willingness to work across multiple office locations within the greater Charlotte area as needed Why This Role Matters This position plays an important part in ensuring our patients receive consistent, high-quality service across the practice.
