Job Purpose/ Summary
Oxygen Plant Operations is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of oxygen generation and related gas plants. The role involves monitoring plant parameters, assisting in start-up and shutdown activities, coordinating with maintenance teams, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and supporting uninterrupted supply of oxygen/nitrogen/argon to internal customers. Job Description
The Assistant Engineer for the Support Oxygen Plant WML plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of oxygen generation and related gas plants. This position is pivotal in monitoring plant parameters and assisting in both start-up and shutdown activities. The role requires close coordination with maintenance teams to ensure adherence to safety standards and the uninterrupted supply of oxygen, nitrogen, and argon to internal customers. Emphasizing operational discipline, the Assistant Engineer is responsible for maintaining safety compliance, providing troubleshooting support, and driving continuous improvement in plant performance. The role demands a strong understanding of process knowledge, planning, and monitoring, alongside effective team management skills. The Assistant Engineer must also possess a keen eye for safety and compliance, ensuring all operations meet regulatory standards. This position is integral to fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence within the team.
Principal Accountabilities
Support daytoday operations of the Oxygen Air Separation Unit ASU to ensure an uninterrupted supply of oxygen nitrogen and argonbr Monitor and record process parameters such as pressure temperature purity and flow through DCSPLC systems ensuring data accuracy and reliabilitybr Assist in plant startup shutdown and changeover activities under the guidance of senior engineers ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptionsbr Coordinate with Mechanical Electrical and Instrumentation teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance facilitating timely and effective repairsbr Ensure strict adherence to oxygen safety standards standard operating procedures SOPs permittowork systems and lockouttagout LOTO procedures to maintain a safe working environmentbr Identify abnormalities in plant performance and support troubleshooting efforts to minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiencybr Maintain accurate shift logs operational records and daily reports to ensure comprehensive documentation of plant activitiesbr Support compliance with statutory safety and environmental requirements ensuring all operations meet regulatory standardsbr Participate in safety drills audits and toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the teambr Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and safety contributing to the overall success of the operations
