Job Description
The Senior Engineer – Coke Oven Mechanical Maintenance plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of coke oven mechanical systems. This position is pivotal in executing preventive, breakdown, and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment availability and reliability. The engineer is tasked with enhancing maintenance practices to support continuous production within the coke oven battery. A key focus is on ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations, thereby safeguarding both personnel and equipment. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and project monitoring, ensuring that all maintenance activities align with production goals. The engineer will also be responsible for fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence, leveraging their business and commercial acumen to drive improvements. Additionally, the role requires a global mindset and entrepreneurial spirit to adapt to evolving industry standards and practices. The Senior Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize maintenance processes and contribute to the overall success of the mechanical maintenance department.
Principal Accountabilities
Plan and execute preventive breakdown and shutdown maintenance of coke oven mechanical equipment to ensure safe reliable and continuous plant operationsbr Monitor and maintain coke oven machines and auxiliaries ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtimebr Coordinate with operations and other maintenance teams to effectively minimize equipment downtime and enhance production efficiencybr Supervise technicians and contractors providing guidance and ensuring adherence to safety and statutory requirementsbr Maintain comprehensive maintenance records and reports facilitating datadriven decisionmaking and continuous improvementbr Actively contribute to equipment reliability improvement initiatives focusing on cost reduction and process optimizationbr Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and standards fostering a culture of safety excellence within the team
