The Assistant Manager – Blast Furnace Operations plays a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the daily operations of the blast furnace. This position is pivotal in ensuring the furnace operates safely, stably, and efficiently, meeting both production and quality objectives. The role demands a keen focus on process optimization, requiring the Assistant Manager to work closely with maintenance teams to uphold operational standards and safety protocols. The individual will be responsible for analyzing operational data to identify areas for improvement, implementing strategies to boost efficiency, and ensuring the consistency of hot metal quality. Additionally, the role involves managing the complexities of startup, shutdown, and handling any abnormal operations, all while maintaining a strong adherence to industrial safety norms. The Assistant Manager must also demonstrate strong decision-making and analytical abilities to navigate the challenges of plant operations effectively.
Principal Accountabilities
Supervise Blast Furnace operations to ensure stable running and optimal productivity maintaining a focus on safety and efficiencybr Monitor and control key BF parameters such as temperature pressure fuel rate and burden distribution to ensure optimal furnace performancebr Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance overall efficiencybr Support hot metal quality control efforts to ensure consistency and meet production standardsbr Manage the startup and shutdown processes as well as handle any abnormal operations ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to safety protocolsbr Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely and effective maintenance activities minimizing downtime and enhancing operational reliabilitybr Ensure strict compliance with safety and operational standards fostering a culture of safety and excellence within the team
