Job Overview: The Supply Chain Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of the supply chain, including logistics, transportation, warehousing, transit insurance, freight management, optimization of freight costs, and streamlining booking processes. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage a team and ensure efficient completion of all supply chain management tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning
- Align supply chain strategies with organizational goals
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements
- Team Management
- Lead and manage supply chain professionals, fostering a collaborative work environment
- Provide guidance, coaching, and development opportunities
- Logistics and Transportation
- Oversee end-to-end logistics for imports and exports to ensure efficient transportation and delivery
- Manage local transportation logistics for supply chain operations, customer sales, and inter-company stock transfers
- Ensure efficient routing and scheduling of transportation to optimize delivery times and minimize costs
- Monitor transportation providers’ performance and negotiate contracts for favorable terms and service levels
- Freight Management & Optimization
- Manage freight logistics, negotiate costs, and consolidate shipments
- Ensure accurate freight billing and optimize delivery schedules
- Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Implement warehouse practices and ensure accurate inventory control
- Comply with safety, security, and regulatory requirements
- Supply Chain Processes
- Develop efficient supply chain workflows and monitor KPIs for performance
- Implement best practices for operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Vendor Management
- Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate favorable contracts
- Risk Management
- Mitigate risks (disruptions, natural disasters, supplier issues)
- Ensure transit insurance is adequate to protect against potential losses
- Booking Processes
- Streamline transportation bookings and implement automated scheduling systems
- Budgeting & Cost Control
- Manage the department's budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain accurate records
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or commerce, Operations, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in end-to-end supply chain roles
- Proven track record in supply chain optimization and cost reduction
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems and other supply chain software
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
- Experience managing teams in Logistics (Domestic, Export & Import), Warehouse, Planning, Sales Order, Invoicing, etc.
- Experience managing the supply chain of a manufacturing unit
- Advance knowledge of excel
- Language proficiency in English and Hindi (both written and spoken)
Preferred - Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management
Travel Requirement: Occasional travel (up to 20%)
Compensation and Benefits:
