Job Description: Supply Chain Management (EMS Industry)
Position : Senior Manager
Industry: Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS)
Experience: 12 to 20 years in EMS or related manufacturing fields
Location: Chamarajanagara District,Karnataka.
Required immediate joiner or 1 month notice period.
Job Summary:
- The SCM for EMS operations will be responsible for end-to-end supply chain strategy and execution covering electronics components sourcing, strategic vendor management, demand planning, NPI supply readiness, inventory control, logistics, and customer fulfillment. The role requires deep knowledge of the electronics supply chain, long-lead components, global sourcing, and risk management..
1. Electronics Component Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Manage sourcing of semiconductors, passive components, PCBs, connectors, electromechanical parts, and packaging materials.
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships with both local and global vendors.
- Handle long lead-time components, allocation challenges, and price volatility through effective planning and negotiations.
- Drive alternate sourcing, cost reduction programs, and vendor consolidation initiatives.
- Conduct supplier audits, PPAP approvals, and ensure supplier quality compliance.
2. Demand Forecasting & Production Material Planning
- Coordinate with customers and internal teams to understand build plans, forecast variability, and NPI demand.
- Ensure timely material availability for SMT, box build, and assembly operations.
- Optimize MRP schedules and improve forecast accuracy with data-driven planning.
- Align closely with engineering and NPI teams to ensure material readiness for new product introductions.
3. Inventory, Warehouse & Component Handling
- Maintain optimal inventory levels considering long-lead components and fluctuating demand cycles.
- Implement best practices in ESD-safe storage, component handling, and traceability.
- Enforce FEFO practices, IPC standards, and robust cycle counting.
- Optimize warehouse layout, material kitting, and internal logistics for SMT lines.
4. Logistics & Global Supply Chain Coordination
- Manage import shipments, customs clearance, freight optimization, and international vendor communication.
- Work closely with 3PL partners for on-time inbound and outbound logistics.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations, export controls, and component-specific documentation requirements (RoHS, REACH, CoC).
5. Cost Optimization & Risk Mitigation
- Drive BOM cost optimization, annual price negotiations, and alternative part proposals (AVL expansion).
- Identify supply risks (shortages, EOL notices, geopolitical issues) and build mitigation plans.
- Benchmark supply chain KPIs such as material availability, inventory turns, cost savings, and OTD performance.
6. Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Lead and develop a high-performing SCM team across procurement, planning, logistics, and warehouse.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, SMT Production, NPI, and Customer teams.
- Implement lean processes, automation tools, and ERP enhancements (SAP/Oracle/Microsoft Dynamics).
