With a vision to formalize the largely unorganized scrap market, SRB combines industry expertise with robust processes to ensure consistent quality, traceability, and supplier engagement across regions.
The upcoming Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) facility in Ludhiana represents Tata Steel’s strategic expansion into greener steelmaking. Powered by scrap as its primary feedstock, the EAF route is energy-efficient and accelerates the transition toward lower-carbon steel production.
Role Overview
The Supply Chain Executive will play a critical role in:
- Mapping regional scrap markets and identifying new sourcing opportunities
- Onboarding and developing scrap suppliers, aggregators & dealers
- Procuring and consolidating scrap volumes for Tata Steel’s EAF, Ludhiana
- Building long-term supplier relationships with a focus on quality and compliance
- Negotiating commercials and ensuring cost-effective procurement
- Monitoring supply trends, price movements & competitor activity
- Coordinating with logistics and plant teams for seamless dispatch and delivery
What we are looking for -
- Prior experience in the scrap industry / ferrous scrap procurement
- Strong understanding of regional scrap trade dynamics
- Experience in supplier development and relationship management
- Willingness for extensive market travel
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
