What To Expect
The Supplier Industrialization team at Tesla is responsible for driving the development, qualification, and launch of critical components built by Tesla’s global supply base. You will play a key role in ensuring suppliers deliver high-quality, on-time parts to support Tesla’s fast-paced product development and production goals. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, technical acumen, and the ability to make quick, data-driven decisions at supplier sites around the world.
What You’ll Do
Plan, organize, and execute industrialization activities within the supply chain team.Develop, manage, audit, and improve supplier manufacturing and assembly processes—from advanced development through mass production.Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities at suppliers to ensure launch readiness.Drive supplier improvements in scalability, cost, and quality.Facilitate technical communication between suppliers and Tesla’s Design, Quality, and Purchasing teams.Conduct and oversee supplier audits to validate performance, reliability, and capacity.Lead and track manufacturing process development for new products and design changes.Guide suppliers in creating robust processes that enable efficient, high-quality production.Validate and verify corrective actions related to design or process changes for sustainability and cross-line application.Provide engineering input on new materials or design alternatives for improved manufacturability and cost efficiency.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.8+ years of experience in wire harness or power distribution system manufacturing and development.Experience with LV / HV harness manufacturing and/or custom connector design and assembly.Knowledge of PPAP/APQP quality systems.Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and inspection methods.Proven ability to communicate effectively and influence at supplier management levels.Track record of achieving customer requirements and performance goals.Strong project management and technical writing skills.Willingness to travel up to 50%, including occasional short-notice trips.
