Job Summary

Sundale School is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and dependable Special Education Aide to support students in Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade. The aide will work under the direction of special education teachers and support staff to assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs), promoting student independence, and ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special needs. • Assist students with toileting skills and hygiene routines. • Support the instructional program by adapting materials and reinforcing lessons under teacher guidance. • Monitor and document student behavior and progress. • Foster a positive, respectful classroom environment. • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and administration.

Required Documents

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications: • A minimum of 48 college credits or a passing score on the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Instructional Aide Exam. • Experience working with students with disabilities preferred. • Experience or willingness to assist with toileting and personal care. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to follow directions, adapt to changing situations, and demonstrate patience and empathy. Preferred: • Prior experience in a school or educational setting. • Bilingual (Spanish and/or ASL) is a plus.
