Job Summary
Treasury Accountants support a range of functions across cash management, corporate finance, and payment processing within the Treasury Department. Responsibilities in cash management include overseeing daily cash activities, preparing cash forecasts, and recording transactions in the general ledger. In corporate finance, they contribute to capital markets strategy, debt and equity activities, hedging initiatives (including fixed, floating, and foreign exchange), and overall liquidity management. Within payment processing, they manage various payment methods such as automated clearing house, check scanning, and credit cards, while also resolving issues with external service providers. Treasury Accountants develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors, banking partners, and other financial institutions.
Job Duties
- Manages daily cash positioning and maintains adequate liquidity for Sun and its subsidiaries. (Essential)
- Collects and manages cash flows across operating, investing, and financing activities, executing required transfers, reconciling daily cash activity, and recording transactions in the general ledger. (Essential)
- Prepares, validates, and maintains the company’s global short-term cash forecast while analyzing variances to improve forecasting accuracy and methodology. (Essential)
- Supports a range of treasury functions, including capital markets strategy, debt and equity issuance, interest rate and foreign exchange hedging strategies, liquidity management, and treasury reporting. (Essential)
- Supports a variety of payment processing systems, including credit card processing, accounts receivable check scanning, and automated clearing house rent payment collection. (Essential)
- Maintains relationships with banking and payment partners, serving as a liaison to resolve issues and drive process improvements and efficiencies.
- Administers user access and entitlements for bank accounts, payment systems, and Treasury related Sun accounts with third party vendors.
- Coordinates opening and closing of bank accounts, maintains inventory of bank, payment gateway, and merchant processing accounts.
- Identifies and recommends ways to integrate payment processes into business operations to expand service offerings, leading implementation efforts in coordination with Operations, Accounting, and IT & Innovation.
- Reconciles miscellaneous balance sheet accounts, including property level sales and security deposit escrow accounts.
- Maintains documented written procedures to ensure adequate support during scheduled absences.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Required)
- 2 years in business experience in Finance, Accounting, or Banking (Preferred)
- 2 years in Treasury and/or general ledger experience (Preferred)
- Motivated individual with strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain good working relationships without forfeiting profitability
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Must have a valid driver's license
