Elementary Registrar
Compensation & Representation:
The Elementary Registrar is a classified staff member represented by the Classified Administrative Professional
Association and is compensated according to the CAPA Salary Schedule.
Essential Job Functions:
This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive. Some incumbents may not perform all the duties listed

● Greets visitors, signs in/out students, substitutes and volunteers
● Provides quality customer service to staff, students and community
● Registers students, monitors waivers and processes student withdrawals
● Maintains the student information system, including registration, attendance, discipline, student directory
information, special education information and assessment information
● Prepares reports and correspondence for parents, staff and administrators
● Compiles attendance records/statistics for BECCA Bill requirements and annual state reports
● Screens mail, telephone calls, takes messages, and provides information in accordance with district
policies
● Provides secretarial support for administrators and special education staff as needed
● Supervises and evaluates student workers
● Establishes and maintains confidential student and staff files and records
● Acts as a backup for other office staff
● Acts as a backup to the Health Room, including being trained and prepared to:
○ Administer oral medications
○ Administer inhalers
○ Administer intranasal spray
○ Administer epipens
○ Administer first aid
● Monitors and maintains student discipline records/data
● Participates in staff and department meetings.
● Works collaboratively within the professional learning community of the school and district
● Performs other duties as assigned
● Reports to work with regular and reliable attendance and punctuality
● Upholds board policy, district and building policies and goals
Minimum Qualifications:
● High school diploma required with additional training in computers and office procedures
Additional Requirements:
● Must possess and maintain certification in CPR/AED/First Aid

Preferred Qualifications:
● Associate’s Degree and evidence of continuing education courses and/or training workshops in
areas relative to the position’s responsibilities
● One year of previous office experience in a school setting
● Experience and/or training with cultural, ethnic and language diversity is preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Skill in effective communication, both oral and written
● Knowledge of and ability to operate electronic student information system
● Knowledge of general office procedures and ability to learn district practices and procedures
● Knowledge of district and state requirements for student attendance
● Fluency with word processing and database systems
● Skill in keyboarding, data entry, recordkeeping and report preparation
● Ability to establish cooperative relationships with other district staff members, students, parents and
community members
● Ability to relate effectively with parents, staff, students, and community in a multicultural and multiracial
community
● Ability to work with confidential information such as student or staff information
● Ability to use multiple communication and electronic systems such as phones, electronic mail, computers,
etc.
● Ability to effectively and professionally serve the needs of students and families

Working Conditions:
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
Inspects school or district facilities for the purpose of ensuring that the site is suitable for safe operations,
maintained in an attractive and clean condition, and/or identifying necessary repairs due to vandalism, equipment
breakage, weather conditions, etc.
Occasional exposure to weather. Moderate physical demand, occasionally required to lift and carry objects
weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds and push/pull with up to twenty-five (25) pounds of force. Must be able to
walk up to 500 feet at a time and climb stairs as needed.
The District operates on a fiscal year from September 1st through August 31st. Those employees who do not
work the full year are paid over a 12-month period. This means that during the school year the monthly pay
warrants will be approximately 1/12 of the school year earnings, which allows the employee to receive a pay
warrant during the summer months.
