Summit Medical Group is recruiting for a DBA and SQL Developer that is responsible for tuning, maintaining, archiving, and restoring SQL databases. This position plays a key role in database maintenance. This position will work in our Data Engineering team to meet department and organizational goals. This is a full time opportunity.
Examples of Duties (List does not include all duties assigned)
- Installs and configures new Microsoft SQL Servers
- Deploys SQL Server features such as SSRS, and some SSIS
- Optimizes queries, stored procedures, and server performance
- Designs and configures SQL backup strategy and recovery methodologies with alerting and logging
- Performs an integral part of SDLC by reviewing and enforcing compliance with department standards for submitted queries
- Develops new and support existing ETL processes
- Creates stored procedures
- Creates databases to support reporting for various SMG service lines (including patient services, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services, Financial services, risk adjustment, value-based care, credentialing, practice sites, etc.)
- Provides recommendations relative to clinical informatics and business reporting (as it relates to informatics)
- Informs manager of trends, problems, and activities in the organization and/or industry pertaining to clinical and business informatics to facilitate appropriate strategy and planning
- Makes recommendations that improve efficiency, accuracy, and functionality of clinical and business information within these venues
- Collaborates with Business Intelligence team members to design, develop and recommend new meaningful and relevant enterprise and site-specific reporting solutions
- Identifies inefficiencies and duplication in data and redesigns workflow to eliminate waste
- Assists architecture team during SQL patch deployment and maintenance
- Understands data conversion
- Establishes monitoring, backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes
- Provides comprehensive and clear documentation for all new database builds, redevelopments, enhancements, for standard operational procedures
- Adheres to all elements of the established corporate compliance plan
- Maintains strictest confidentiality both internally and externally
- Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities. Each employee will contribute to the continual evaluation site performance as well as the implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care provided to patients.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with strong experiential background that exceeds minimum requirements.
Experience
• Five years' experience in SQL Development, database administration, and/or business intelligence within a healthcare environment.
• Previous use of big data tools, functional knowledge of database concepts and query tools
• Familiarity with risk adjustment and claims groupers used in payment including HCC model, DRG groupers, and Episode groupers preferred
