SME – Science (Subject Matter Expert)
A Science SME (Subject Matter Expert) is a professional who creates, reviews, explains, and improves science-related educational or technical content. They usually work for schools, ed-tech companies, coaching institutes, publishing houses, or online learning platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and review science study materials, notes, questions, and solutions
- Develop curriculum-aligned content for subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or General Science
- Ensure scientific accuracy and clarity in educational content
- Prepare MCQs, assessments, worksheets, and answer keys
- Simplify complex scientific concepts for students
- Support teachers, curriculum teams, or product teams with subject expertise
- Update content according to syllabus changes and exam patterns
- Assist in video scripts, presentations, and digital learning content
- Conduct doubt-solving sessions or academic support if required
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge in science subjects
- Research and analytical skills
- Content writing and explanation abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Communication and teaching skills
- Familiarity with educational technology tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science (B.Sc, M.Sc, etc.)
