We are looking for a passionate and industry-oriented Subject Matter Expert – Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) to deliver high-quality teaching, mentor students, and contribute to curriculum development in the areas of database systems and backend technologies. The role requires a strong academic foundation combined with practical industry exposure to prepare students for careers in software engineering and data-driven applications.
Responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).
- Teach core database concepts including SQL, normalization, transactions, indexing, query optimization, stored procedures, triggers, and database design.
- Design and evaluate assignments, laboratory exercises, projects, and assessments.
- Mentor students in academic projects, internships, hackathons, and research initiatives.
- Develop industry-relevant curriculum aligned with current technologies and best practices.
- Conduct workshops and certification programs related to SQL and database technologies.
- Collaborate with industry partners for guest lectures, live projects, and internships.
- Contribute to departmental academic planning, accreditation activities, and curriculum enhancement.
- Encourage applied research and innovation in database systems and data management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (Ph.D. preferred).
- Strong understanding of Relational Database Management Systems and database design principles.
- Hands-on expertise with SQL and databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience with database administration, query optimization, indexing, and transaction management is desirable.
- Prior teaching experience in higher education or relevant industry experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and presentation skills.
- Passion for student-centric, experiential, and project-based learning.
