Role Description The Counselor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Kochi. The Counselor will guide students and professionals through study abroad and international healthcare career options, including course selection, destination and university shortlisting, and eligibility assessment. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, explaining admission and visa processes, coordinating documentation, and following up with clients at each stage of their journey. The role involves collaborating with internal teams to manage applications, maintaining accurate records in counseling and CRM systems, and providing regular updates to clients and their families. The Counselor will also participate in information sessions, events, and outreach activities to promote Medcity Study Abroad’s services and support prospective applicants.
Qualifications
- Strong counseling and advisory skills, with the ability to understand client goals and recommend appropriate study abroad and healthcare career pathways.
- Knowledge of international education systems, admission procedures, and visa requirements for destinations such as Germany, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and Europe.
- Excellent communication skills, including clear spoken and written English; proficiency in regional languages is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail when handling applications, records, and client information.
- Customer service and relationship-building skills, including empathy, active listening, and a consultative approach.
- Ability to work in a structured, target-driven environment while collaborating effectively with colleagues and partners.
- Comfort with basic computer applications, online research, and CRM or counseling management tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a background in education, counseling, healthcare, or management is preferred.
- Prior experience in overseas education consulting, student counseling, or healthcare recruitment is an added advantage.
