Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhopal for a Study Abroad / MBBS Abroad Counsellor. The counsellor will guide students and families through the entire overseas education process, from initial career and course counseling to shortlisting universities and programs that match academic profiles and career goals. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, explaining admission requirements, helping prepare applications and documentation, and coordinating with universities and partner institutions. The role involves providing detailed guidance on MBBS abroad options, entrance requirements, cost structures, and recognition of degrees, as well as supporting students with visa procedures, financial planning, and scholarship or loan opportunities. The counsellor will also maintain accurate student records, follow up on leads, participate in seminars or events, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure a smooth and supportive experience for every student.
Qualifications
- Strong counseling and advisory skills, with the ability to understand student goals, explain complex processes clearly, and provide unbiased guidance.
- Knowledge of study abroad and MBBS abroad pathways, including admission criteria, visa processes, and key destinations such as Canada, the UK, the USA, Australia, Europe, and others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, presentation abilities, and clear written and verbal communication in English; proficiency in local languages is an advantage.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple student cases, maintain documentation, meet deadlines, and follow structured processes accurately.
- Customer service orientation and relationship-building skills to engage with students and families professionally, manage expectations, and provide empathetic support.
- Comfort with basic computer applications and online tools, including CRM or student management systems, email, spreadsheets, and video conferencing platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Education, Counseling, Management, or related fields preferred); prior experience in overseas education counseling, admissions, or career guidance is highly beneficial.
