Role Description
This is a full-time freelance role for a Study Abroad Counsellor for undergraduate programs with Uppseekers. The role is remote work. Responsibilities include providing mentorship and guidance to students want to do undergraduate study abroad, developing personalized study plans, assisting with college applications, reviewing essays and other application materials, and conducting research to recommend universities and programs based on students’ aspirations. Collaboration with students, families, and institutions is a key aspect of this role, ensuring a tailored and impactful experience for each candidate.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students and their families
- Knowledge of university admission processes, particularly for top global undergraduate programs
- Capability in mentoring, providing essay reviews, and assisting with college applications
- Research and analytical skills to identify best-fit colleges and programs for students
- Experience in counseling or education is preferred
- Proven organizational and project management skills to handle multiple students and tasks effectively
- Proficiency in online communication tools for remote work, with adaptability to hybrid work arrangements
- A bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in counseling or educational consultancy are a plus
- Passion for mentorship, personal development, and global education
