Job Title: Study Abroad Counsellor

Job Summary:
We seek a dedicated and experienced Study Abroad Counsellor to assist students in exploring international educational opportunities. The counsellor will guide students throughout the application process across various global destinations, offering expert advice on university and country selection, country-specific visa procedures, documentation, and preparing for a successful transition to studying abroad.
Key Responsibilities
Counseling and Guidance
- Global Higher Education Counseling: Provide comprehensive one-on-one counseling to students and parents regarding global higher education pathways, institutional landscapes, and country-specific educational systems.
- Strategic Academic Planning: Advise students on matching their academic interests and career goals with the right programs, universities, and target countries.
- Financial & Regulatory Guidance: Guide students through country-specific scholarship opportunities, financial aid frameworks, and international visa protocols.
Application Process Support
- Global Application Navigation: Assist students in navigating diverse international application systems (e.g., UCAS, Common App, OUAC, or direct university portals), ensuring compliance with varying regional requirements and deadlines.
- Writing & Document Mentorship: Review and provide critical feedback on Statements of Purpose (SOPs), personal statements, letters of recommendation (LORs), and academic portfolios tailored to specific regional expectations.
Visa & Compliance Assistance
- International Visa Support: Deliver up-to-date guidance on international student visa requirements, including required financial frameworks, health checks, biometric registrations, and country-specific immigration prerequisites (such as the I-20, CAS, or COE).
- Interview Coaching: Prepare students for visa interviews through mock sessions and strategic Q&A preparation.
Pre-departure Guidance
- Transition & Logistics Briefing: Prepare students for international relocation, covering cultural adaptation, mandatory health insurance schemes, local accommodation scouting, and travel logistics.
Partnership with Universities
- Institutional Relations: Build and maintain strategic relationships with international universities and global educational institutions to stay informed on changing admission criteria, intake timelines, and exclusive scholarship opportunities.
Marketing and Outreach
- Program Promotion: Promote global study abroad opportunities through seminars, webinars, educational fairs, and targeted outreach initiatives to attract prospective students.
Follow-up and Support
- Post-Arrival Continuity: Maintain active communication with students post-departure to offer ongoing support, mentorship, and guidance during their initial transition into their host country.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree (preferably in education, international relations, or related field). A master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-6 years of experience counselling students for study abroad, specifically in the USA.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the US higher education system, admission procedures, and visa processes.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively counsel and guide students from diverse backgrounds.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Customer Service Orientation: Ability to handle inquiries, build relationships, and provide exceptional service.
- Technology Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
Preferred Knowledge:
- Experience with student recruitment or working with international students.
- Familiarity with scholarship opportunities in the US. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Working Hours:
- Full-time position, with occasional weekend hours for student consultations and events.
